Calendar Professional Training Workshops/Conferences Consultation Contact Us Group Process Online Call or Email for current schedule Kathleen Adams LPC, RPT-M/S, Instructor This pass/fail class is designed to offer exposure to, not mastery of, the basic theories and practices of group process for nonclinical facilitators. This class is designed for Certified Poetry/Journal Therapy (CPT) trainees who need to clear the Group Process prerequisite requirement. This class is also popular with those who facilitate journal groups, personal growth workshops, or any type of nonclinical group process. The purpose of the class is to orient students to the theory and practice of group process, using experiential learning as well as a classic text in group psychotherapy (Irvin Yalom) and a contemporary text in developmental group process (Christina Baldwin). Weekly assignments include reading from two texts, responding to discussion questions from the texts and from case studies. A final paper of approximately 1000 words will synthesize the process. The class is 10 weeks in duration with a minimum of 3 hours per week expected in reading and discussion with other students. Assignments will be distributed each Monday morning and each week's homework is due by email submission by the following Sunday evening. Final paper/evaluation is due one week after the last class. A certificate of completion will be mailed to each participant with email notification of satisfactory completion to the trainee's mentor/supervisor. Cost is $200 payable by check or MasterCard/Visa.
